Forgiveness Day: one small step to a better planet
Posted by admin under Relationships
How many times, in anger moments, people say “I’ll never forgive you for that!”? Somebody saying this, may feel an instant overwhelming pride of having the courage not to forgive. What makes them so proud? Would it be about the justice that’s been made? Not necessarily (what is justice, after all?). Would it be a kind of punishment for the guilty? Maybe (if we agree that all those who do things we disapprove are guilty). Or would it be rather delicious food for our EGO, our huuuuuge EGO, the almighty “I” inside us? OK, we feed our animal, but what’s the cost of this? A life lived looking back, towards a past which is already gone, ignoring a present of opportunities waiting for us to spot them, turn them into needs and take full advantage of them.
What if one morning we all woke up with the wish of forgiving? If all people on this planet would forgive everything that single day, how would our world look in 20 years time? What if that day was August 6th, 1945, the day of the Hiroshima atomic bomb attack? Or let’s shift back a few years and fix the Forgiveness Day on December 7th, 1941, the day when Pearl Harbor was attacked? No Pearl Harbor means no Yalta conference, no Hiroshima and Nagasaki attacks, world war termination, scientists taking back their life and working hard for new projects to fulfill human dreams.
Looking back at all inventions that came up after 1945 and shifting them back in time with 10 years, the World Wide Web/Internet protocol (HTTP) and WWW language (HTML) would have been created by Tim Berners-Lee in 1980, not in 1990, blogging would have appeared 10 years earlier. Taking into consideration the exponential increase of income many bloggers talk about, the world would have been much richer today, poor people in African countries would not be poor anymore and the whole Earth would smell nice.
If you enjoyed this projection into a hypothetical future, remember it started with only one day of forgiveness. Let’s have the Forgiveness Day tomorrow, shall we?
As a special note, you may want to know that although I’m a blogger too, I’m still wondering how do I make money online, just because I don’t.
